Well, that's pretty cool, Lance! A friend of mine actually won first place in the gospel category of the Merlefest songwriting competition a couple-three years ago, but I didn't build her voice, so you're one up on me!

Congrats to you and John, Lance. Wish I'd been there. Almost went. On the bright side, Doc is coming to Ithaca later this month, and my wife and I have good seats.

John Creech is one of our OLF members, although he rarely ever posts, I would love to here from him about his experience at Merlefest. I just want to point out, John did the real work here, I couldn't imagine the work and effort that must go into preparing to compete in a guitar competition, especially at this level and to achieve 3rd place! Heck that is within striking distance of a win!

GO JOHN!!

Well done Lance, it's certainly a huge pat on the back to have independent confirmation that your instruments sound as good as they look, you must be, and have every right to be very, very proud.

Cheers

Kim
See they sound better when you don't put burst on them
Russ--with a burst, the guy would have won first place!

Congrats, Lance. Are you going to need to "widen your doors"?

Steve
